Nathan Archer

Dr. Nathan Archer obtained his Ph.D at the University of Maryland, Baltimore under the direction of the late Dr. Mark Shirtliff, where he uncovered the immune responses that dictate S. aureus nasal colonization. He performed his post-doctoral studies in the lab of Dr. Lloyd Miller at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. There he discovered a role for the skin microbiome to drive IL-1α mediated atopic dermatitis-like skin inflammation that has implications in the treatment of dysbiosis found in atopic dermatitis patients.
