Beile Gao is mainly engaged in microbial functional genomics research. The research includes two aspects: the evolutionary analysis of the unique genomic characteristic sequences of different microbial groups; Functional studies of proteins unique to different microbial taxa in cells. In view of the functional studies of the unique proteins, the current research topics include: 1. The mechanism of the unique proteins of Actinobacteria in proteasome assembly; And 2. The regulatory mechanisms of proteins specific to Epsilon-proteobacteria enriched in the deep-sea environment in the signal transduction of orientation movement. By analyzing the evolution of characteristic sequences and the function of unique proteins, we hope to better understand the evolution of genes and genomes and the role of characteristic sequences in the adaptation to environmental changes.
