Dr. YANG Liang obtained his BSc degree from Nankai University in 2004 (Tianjin, China) and PhD degree from Technical University of Denmark in 2009. After which, he did postdoc training in Technical University of Denmark and University of Hamburg (Germany) from 2010 to 2011. Dr. Yang joined Nanyang Technological University (NTU, Singapore) as an Assistant Professor in 2012 and was promoted as an Associated Professor (with tenure) in Feb 2018. Dr. Yang was appointed as the Assistant Chair in the School of Biological Sciences and the Deputy Research Director of the Public Health Cluster in Singapore Centre for Environment Life Science Engineering (SCELSE) in NTU. In the end of 2018, Dr. Yang joined SUSTec as a Full Professor in School of Medicine. Dr. Yang’s research group employs molecular microbiology, systems biology and chemical biology approaches to investigate bacterial biofilm formation mechanisms, antibiotic resistance, pathogenesis and next generation antimicrobial compounds. He is currently serving as editor board member of the journal Applied and Environmental Microbiology, Biofilm and associate editor for the journal npj Biofilms and Microbiomes. He has published more than 200 research papers in international peer reviewed journals, including The New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet, Nature Communications, Science Signaling, Nature Protocols, Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A, Trends in Microbiology, mBio, Nano Letters, ISME J, npj Biofilms and Microbiomes, etc (Total citations >15000, H-index 62).
