Dr. Wei DING has been an associate professor in the College of Marine Life Sciences at Ocean University of China since 2020. She serves as the executive associate editor of iMetaOmics and the Youth Editor of iMeta, and is a member of both the Chinese Society for Microbiology and the American Society for Microbiology. In 2019, she
obtained her PhD degree from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
Additionally, she has gained post-doctoral research experience at the University of Hong Kong.
Wei DING's research focuses on marine biofilm bacteria, specifically their lifestyle and bioprospecting potential. This includes studying species diversity and functional diversity within marine biofilms, investigating mechanisms behind biofilm community
assembly, exploring versatility in single-bacterial metabolism within biofilms, as well as conducting bioprospecting studies on marine biofilm bacteria.
Since 2015, she has published over 30 papers in SCI journals such as Nature
Communications, iMeta, mLife, Appl Environ Microbiol.
