Yu Ding, Professor, PhD Supervisor, and Postdoctoral Supervisor; recipient of national-level youth talent awards, Chief Scientist of the "National Key Research and Development Program," Deputy Director of the Guangdong Province "Key Laboratory of Microbial Safety and Health," Executive Council Member of the National Microbial Seed Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance (1st session), Committee Member of the Youth Working Committee of the Chinese Institute of Food Science and Technology (3rd session), Executive Council Member of the Guangdong Microbiology Society (10th session), and Deputy Secretary-General of the Guangdong Edible Fungi Industry Association. He currently serves as Associate Editor for Food Safety and Health and is on the editorial boards of Applied Food Research, Food and Agricultural Immunology, Frontiers in Microbiology, and Foods.
He has long been dedicated to research in food microbiological safety and nutrition, focusing on the mechanisms of hazards posed by foodborne pathogens and the nutritional health functions of edible fungi. His research includes in-depth studies of the functional active components and mechanisms of edible fungi, as well as product development. He has received the Guangdong Province Scientific and Technological Progress Special Award (2021, ranked third) and the Guangdong Province "Ding Ying" Science and Technology Award, as well as the Chinese Institute of Food Science and Technology Innovation Award—First Prize for Technological Advancement (2020, ranked first; 2022, ranked second). He has published over 150 SCI papers in journals including Biotechnology Advances, Trends in Food Science & Technology, Biosensors and Bioelectronics, and mSystems. He has filed 15 international PCT patents and 74 national invention patents, with 30 granted.
