Professor Scott Wade is an academic in the School of Engineering at Swinburne University, Australia and a Node Leader of the ARC Biofilms training centre. He was awarded a PhD from Victoria University of Technology (Australia) in 2001 and then held research positions at universities in the UK and Australia prior to joining Swinburne University in 2009. He leads a research team investigating various aspects of corrosion, including microbiologically influenced corrosion, accelerated low water corrosion, corrosion sensing and novel coating development. His research has involved collaboration with leading industrial, government and academic institutions, and has been widely published. He is a member of the Australasian Corrosion Association, NACE/AMPP, the International Biofilm Standards Task Group and is a Council member for the International Biodeterioration and Biodegradation Society.
