Scott Wade
Swinburne University
Scott Wade is a Professor in the School of Engineering at Swinburne University (Melbourne, Australia). He performs fundamental corrosion research and collaborates with industry and research organisations to provide expert guidance on applied corrosion problems. Scott’s research interests include microbiologically influenced corrosion, marine corrosion, accelerated low water corrosion, biofouling, novel corrosion/biofouling resistant coatings and how standardisation and test method development can lead to real impact. Biofilms are at the very heart of the majority of this work and he and his team explore various aspects of fundamental and applied biofilm research. He is involved in various aspects of the Australasian Corrosion Association, is a council member of the International Biodegradation and Biodeterioration Society, a member of the International Biofilm Standards Task Group and a long-standing member of AMPP.
