4th International Conference on Biofilms (Asia-Pacific 2022) was held on October 18-23, 2022 in Guangzhou, China!
The conference was hosted by South China University of Technology and Southern University of Science and Technology, co-hosted by the AEIC (Academic Exchange Center), supported by European Society for Clinical Microbiology and Infection (ESGB), Chinese Society for Microbiology, General Microbiology Professional Committee, Overseas Chinese Microbiology Society (SinoMicro), Elsevier (ELSEVIER). The conference refers to the EuroBiofilms and ASMBiofilms patterns to highlight academic and international aspects.

A total of 112 renowned experts and scholars in the field of biofilm were invited to be the keynote speakers and guest speakers of this conference. The conference was attended by 63 foreign scholars, including Prof. Tom Coenye, President of EuroBiofilms and Editor of Elsevier, and 49 domestic scholars, including Prof. Tom Coenye, President of South China University of Technology, Institute of Microbiology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Jinan University, Guangzhou Medical University, State Key Laboratory of Respiratory Diseases, and other scholars. The overall scale of the conference has been greatly increased, and the original single field of food microbiology has been expanded to include environmental microbiology and medical microbiology, with the aim of studying biofilm from multiple dimensions through the crossover of multiple disciplines, and to gain a more profound and comprehensive understanding of its laws and changes.
In addition, a total of 61 abstracts were included in the conference, which introduced the latest research progress of biofilm in the fields of food safety control, clinical medicine, and environmental science and application, and the papers of this conference will be published in the special issues of the following journals:
